Two people are collaborating at a table with laptops, surrounded by colorful swatches and notes. The atmosphere is creative and focused.

About

Erra Fazira Kamaruddin is the maker behind Art of Kin, a studio practice based in Kuala Lumpur. The work begins with looking closely at the things that persist when everything else falls away, a mark, a form, a found object given new weight. Each piece is made by hand, slowly, as an act of attention.

Kin's practice is rooted by what it means to carry a symbol across distance. To stitch something into existence by hand. To see an object until it tells you what it is. The work is still, composed, and certain — made for those who look closer.
